The upward flow stirrer may be used effectively in many procedures. It may be used with pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, paints, inks, petroleum, and foods. It is also useful in stirring hot and cold solutions in small or large volumes. It can provide rapid disbursement or re-suspension of heat-sensitive substances, proteins, oils, or food essences. It also emulsifies liquids of different densities, dissolves low-soluble solids, and resuspends bacteria into solution. Operation in open containers of all sizes is possible.

All wetted parts are made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel, which allows easy cleaning. The self-lubricating Teflon TFE bushing requires no maintenance and adds to the stirrer''s long life. The shielded stirring blades cannot damage the mixing vessel.

To use as a conventional stirrer, the stirring blade and shaft may be used without the outer housing.
